This is great, Inez. The loaf turned out moist and delicious, and had just enough spice and sweetness to be satisfying. I took some to work for a treat and all those who tried it wanted to know when I would be baking it again. (They don't cook, but they love it if I do). I like the fact that I can get my fiber with this delicious sweet bread! I'll be making this often.

First off, I turned mine into muffins rather than a loaf, but that didn't hurt them at all. I decreased the amount of butter by 1 T and increased the amount of applesauce by about that much or a little more. This recipe is surpisingly light for an oatmeal bread. I left out the raisins, which gave them a simpler taste, but next time I'll try dding them.

I tried this and thought it was okay, but definitely not my favorite. But, my husband and neighbor liked it very much, so what can I say?! I'm outnumbered so you get the 5 stars anyway. Thanks.
