A fantastic almond cookie recipe that was published in our local newspaper with a note that it was a blue ribbon winner at the fair!

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together then add the egg yolk and almond extract, blend well.
  3. Add the flour, mix well to combine then stir in the nuts.
  4. Form the dough into small crescents about 2 1/2 inches long.
  5. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned.
  6. Cool for 10 minutes and then dust with powdered sugar if desired.
