Chocolate Meringue Stars

"These are easy and attractive cookies. They are light and chewy and you can't eat just one. I usually make them at Christmas, but they will do for any occasion."

  1. It is true that you can not just eat one. I ended up making a double batch. I knew I wouldn't have time or patience for the glaze so I sprinkled them with chocolate sprinkles before I baked them. Looked pretty and tasted great.

  2. These are such delicate and attractive cookies it's hard to believe that I made them. I'm really scared of pastry bags, so kept putting off making them, but in the end, they were very very easy. Rather than glaze them, I melted the chocolate and made sandwiches. My chocoholic husband is in heaven. Thank you very much for the recipe.

  3. I thought these were fantastic! I didnt use the glaze on them because I wanted to cut back on the work I was spenging in the kitchen over the Holidays and the turned out really really good! Thanks so much for this recipe!

  4. These were exceptionally tasty. I usually only make plain, and sometimes add mini chocolate chips b/4 baking. We didn't dip them, thought they were perfect as is. Thank You

  5. Wonderful cookies!!! I used maple sugar in place of regular sugar, and they were to die for! I doubled the recipe, then made half with no coco powder (so they were maple flavored) and half with coco powder. Both were excellent! I had to go somewhere and still had one pan left to cook, so I put the pan in and turned off the oven like the other forgotten cookie recipes, and they were done perfectly in the morning. Definitely make a double batch because these cookies go fast! I didn't do the glaze on top either. I used a ziptop baggie with one of the corners cut out in place of a pastry bag.
