- 1 (1 1/2 lb) rutabagas
- 1⁄3 cup sour cream
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 1⁄8 teaspoon pepper
directions
- 1. Peel rutabega with vegetable peeler and cut into small cubes, about 1/2" or smaller.
- 2. Boil rutabega cubes for approximately 15-20 minutes. The time may vary based on size of pieces. They are done when easily poked with a fork.
- 3. Drain rutabega and mash with potato masher with all other ingredients. A food processor works great if you have one.
