Macadamia Nut Hummus

"This is a Hawaiian-style hummus that is great to use as a spread on thinly sliced snack bread or as a dip for vegetables. It comes from a cookbook called Chefs of Aloha: Favorite Recipes from the Top Chefs of Hawaii (and is attributed to the Sheraton Waikiki)."

  1. YUM, what a great twist on your usual hummus. The macadamias add a wonderful taste and texture to this and the basil takes it over the top. Very fresh, flavourful and creamy! I used this as a spread with crudites and loved it. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this with us, NorthwesGal!<br/>Made and reviewed for the January 2011 Nut Tag in the Spain/Portugal Forum.

  2. This is wonderful hummus. The roasted macadamia nuts gave a deeper flavor. I served it for our Fathers Day Luau and it was a big hit with everyone. Delicious! Made for ZWT 7.

  3. I liked the subtle taste of the nuts. I added a touch more lemon juice. Thanks! Made by a Food.Commando for ZWT 2011.

This site used to be awesome. It was at the top of its game when it was called Recipezaar, but that was many years ago. The site was purchased by Scripps and belly-flopped into mediocrity. A few of the faithful members remained, hoping to wait out the storm of corporate nonsense. But alas, it never got better and just continued on its terminal path to nothingness. So most of the loyal members have vanished and made homes at better recipe sites.
