directions

  • Coat a 9 inch glass pie dish with cooking spray.
  • Melt butter and brown sugar in a large saucepan over medium heat until mixture starts to bubble. Remove from heat and let cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in 1 egg and vanilla until blended.
  • Stir in flour, salt, and baking powder until smooth.
  • Scrape about 3/4 cup of batter into a mound in the middle of the pie plate. Place in freezer for about 10 minutes, or until firm.
  • Meanwhile, melt 1/2 cup of the chocolate chips in microwave or double boiler.
  • Stir the melted chips, the cocoa, and the remaining egg into unused batter.
  • Remove the pie plate from the freezer and press the dough over the bottom and halfway up the sides of the pie plate.
  • Sprinkle chopped Snicker's over dough, then top with chocolate mixture.
  • Bake at 350 for 24-27 minutes, or until tests done.
  • Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over middle of brownie layer, then spread them out to meet the blondie layer as they melt.
  • Top with chopped nuts or more Snicker's pieces and cool before cutting into wedges.

  1. This is one of the best desserts I have even made. It is a fan favorite. I lost it a few years ago when I had a fire I am so glad I found it again. So are numerous other people.

  2. Delicious! You definitely need all 13 snickers, though I believe it is fun size, as I have a copy of the recipe from Woman's Day also. I didn't chop them, for step 9, I placed them in the pan & then spooned the chocolate dough over them and spread it carefully. I did 2 additional fun size sliced thinly for the topping for step 12. I thought it was a relatively easy recipe & very tasty. It looks very rich, but it's actually not too sweet. Definitely a keeper! I think it should be re-named Snicker pie so it can get more exposure!

  3. On the up side, I only had 6 snickers and it seemed to be enough. I would suggest cutting the freezer time by using an ice bath instead for steps 2 and 5. Preparation was a little more complicated than I like. My husband really liked it and he doesn't have a big sweet tooth.

I live in Chandler, Arizona, which is near Phoenix. I have been a registered nurse for almost 25 years. Currently I am a clinical supervisor at a health care clinic. I love to cook rich foods with complex flavors, whether they be main dishes or desserts. I have also been eating low carb for about 5 years, so I am pretty good at modifying recipes to match my lifestyle.
