  1. This is comfort food! I loved this dish, even though I could not find white asparagus. So I used green asparagus. I hope this did not affect the flavor(don't they just cover up the asparagus to keep it white?). This was excellent ! Thanks Mimi!

  2. I was searching Recipezaar last night to find a recipe for a jar of white asparagus I had and decided to try this one. It was very quick and easy and the only thing I added was salt and pepper as additional seasonings. This was a great side dish which I will use again and start to experiment with with maybe some horseradish or other items to add a spicy kick. Nice recipe Mimi, thanks for the posting.

  3. iuse gluten free flour and use this for everything - good as a pot pie filler - just the sauce i mean!!

  4. I have almost the exact same recipe, although I use steamed asparagus and hadn't tried using the asparagus water. It's the only way my husband will eat asparagus. I'm a big fan of it, too, so I was pleased to find your recipe online where I'll be able to access (and enjoy) it from anywhere! Thanks!

  5. It's nice and easy to make, as I needed only the white sauce, left out the asparragus and beacon but added very finely chopped parsley and pepper which I've mixed with the flour, it was tops with the T bone stake, mushroom and thin nooddles, great recipe for lazy day cooking.

Very busy nanny/au pair, working for a very rich and snooty family, in a very large home, in a very snooty village. Just in case my employer comes here, please don't ask where I am from, or I'll be sacked like the last nanny was. ;-) I take care of 4 gorgeous, and darling kids. 3 girls and a boy. The boy is the youngest (and my favorite). They are great children, very, very active. (Hyper) I love to cook. I guess that's a given, why else would I be here. Part of my job is also to prepare meals for the family. The more they like my food, the longer I get to stay. (just a little joke) On my day off, I usually go out to the cinema or some dance clubs with the other au pairs in this town. That's about it I think.
