Vanilla Frosting

"I was trying to make frosting when I was out of powdered sugar and couldn't get to the store. I know it may seem odd to have flour in frosting, but trust me, this frosting is delicious and sweet!"

  • In a small saucepan slowly whisk the flour into the milk and heat, stirring constantly until thick. Allow to cool to room temperature.
  • While it's cooling cream the softened butter and the sugar together until it is light and fluffy.
  • Stir Vanilla into cooled milk/flour mixture then add to the butter/sugar mixture and beat until combined and it resembles whipped cream.
  • Use immediately or you will have to rewhip if it starts to separate.
