Much better than croutons sold in the grocery store--these really are the best!! The herb mixture is incredible; I would've never thought of combining all of them, but they're perfect together! My only changes were to halve the servings (to 3 cups), and use mostly olive oil in place of the butter (I used 3 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of melted butter). Oh, and I also used whole grain bread for the bread cubes. Totally delicious!! Those store-bought croutons are history--I'm making these from now on! Thanks so much for a great recipe, Chef 441346!!

These seriously are the best (8 spice) croutons ever! Followed recipe exactly and would not change a thing. Have had these twice already, and will never need to buy packet croutons again :) Very easy too! I will suggest that you should make a bit more than you intend on using - I had the problem that my DH & DS swamped the kitchen (they just had to find out what the yummy smell was) and 'taste tested' -almost without stopping to breathe- until I threatened with the cleaning up! Thank you for sharing a great recipe
