ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 small onion
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch, in about
- 1⁄4 cup water (approximate)
directions
- boil together then thicken with cornstarch to desired thickness.

Like Merlot I made this sweet and sour sauce to pour over meatballs for an appetizer. I made up three varieties of mini meatballs for the holidays. After making and oven baking It's Me -Toolbelt's Appetizer Meatballs, I put a dozen to a large soup bowl, poured over sauce to cover. After cooling in the fridge I then froze them. They reheated beautifully. The seving dish emptied so quickly that when refilling I barely had time to heat and add the cocktail picks! This sauce is great on both chicken and ribs, it is now defintely in my appetizer cookbook as well. Thank you Dotty.

I have just recently retired. I worked in the banking industry for 25 yrs. My husband and I own a cottage and have spent most of this last summer at the lake. We go there in the winter as well. I love to cook and I collect recipes.
