Suet Cake for bird feeding

ingredients
- 1 lb lard
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup ginger
- 1 cup dried cracked corn
- 1 cup sunflower seeds, chips
- 1⁄4 cup cayenne pepper
- 1⁄3 cup molasses
- 1⁄3 cup olive oil
- 1⁄3 cup yeast culture
- 6 cups cornmeal
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
directions
- Melt lard on low heat in a saucepan.
- Poor into a really large mixing bowl.
- Stir in other ingredients in above order.
- Pour Mix into cake pan,cool and cut into blocks to fit your feeder.
- Freeze in zip lock bags.

I did not add the olive oil or yeast and cut way back on the cornmeal. I used a mixed bird seed I had , lard, oatmeal and a small aount of flour and cornmeal It seemed to set up very nicely for me without all the flour and cornmeal. Just waiting to put it n the suet feeder for the birds Made for Pac Fall 2009Reply
