  • Boil noodles and drain.
  • While boiling, melt butter in saucepan on low -medium slowly add the flour well continuously stirring .
  • Slowly add the milk will continuously stirring.
  • Add the Cheeses, salt and white pepper, Increase heat to medium while continuously stirring until all cheese is melted. .
  • Remove from heat and let cool 10 minutes. Poor over noodles and mix well.

  1. What do I do different if I want to add ham to it?
     
  2. Other Mac n cheese recipes I have made always have some oven time after combining everything. No need for this in this recipe?

  1. This is fantastic and relatively quick to make. The only thing I changed was that I used shredded Colby Jack cheese in place of the sharp cheddar. It was a huge hit with the entire family! Super cheesy and creamy, yum!!

  2. Perfect because you don't have to worry about your sauce breaking!!! I did add some cayenne, garlic powder, mustard powder and Worcestershire sauce but that's personal preference. Great base recipe!
     
  3. My family loves mac and cheese and I am always looking at new and improved ways to make it. This is my family's favorite. Very creamy. Can be made ahead and then baked.
