Steve's Memphis-Style Coleslaw Dressing

Steve's Memphis-Style Coleslaw Dressing created by PaulaG

Love this dressing. It is great tasting and very quick and easy. My family and friends prefer this over any other. It is always a request at my husbands BBQ with his co-workers. It comes from Fresh Express coleslaw.

directions

  • Pour cider vinegar into bowl, add sugar; stir to dissolve.
  • In a separate bowl, add mayo and ground celery seed together.
  • Stir in vinegar mix.
  • Whisk until smooth.
  • Toss with cabbage. I use angel hair coleslaw prepackaged 10 oz and triple the recipe using 3 bags of coleslaw for BBQ etc.
  • I also add red, yellow, and green peppers for color and taste, and sometimes green onions.

Great recipe! Loved the tanginess. The amount of sugar was just a little too much for us and next time I will reduce it by, let's say, half. But, that is only personal preference and the recipe is really sound.

We love this dressing too. Fresh Express certainly choose a good recipe to add to their coleslaw package. The cider vinegar and the celery seed so compliment and make for a great tasting salad dressing. Thank you for sharing a recipe that is now in my keepers.

This was on the package of coleslaw mix that I purchased and loving to experiment, I gave it a try. I used the angel hair coleslaw mix, added a medium carrot which was finely shredded as well as a chopped bell pepper. After allowing to sit for about an hour, it was served and everyone enjoyed it. It is a nice light dressing and Splenda can be used in place of the sugar. Delicious.
