  1. EXCELLENT and this is the way we do Sweet Tea in the South. I was born, raised and still live in the South and we do LOVE our Sweet Tea!!! I love the flavor of Luziann tea the best. I can even recognize it in a restaurant. Tea is even good as a beverage between meals and great with a seafood dinner. Just can't beat it!!! Prepared as a participant in the Southern, Cajun & Creole Sept 2009 Tag Event in the Cooking Photo Forum.

  2. I am trying out different drinks to serve at a Southern theme dinner and tried this recipe. My family loved this sweet tea. Since I normally don't drink my tea with sugar it was a little to sweet for me but I am going to make it as one of the drinks since everyone liked it so much. Thanks Sweet T. Bullwinkle.

  3. I gave this 5 stars. My family loves this tea. The copy I got is slightly different. I got my copy from Better Budgeting. It calls for 8-10 tea bags (Luzianne or Lipton), small pot of water (with lid that fits well), 1 cup sugar or splenda, 1 gallon sized pitcher or pickle jar. Add sugar to water and boil over medium-high heat. Amount of water doesn't matter must be hot and bubbly. Toss in tea bags. Remove from the stove. Cover the pot and steep for as long as possible. The tea is good and steeped in 20 minutes, but better in 1-2 hours. Pour tea syrup into gallon sized pitcher. Fill with water, squeezing tea bags into a glass or pretty canning jars filled with ice. This can last 2 days in the refrigerator. I let mine steep 20 minutes and so it's not to strong. I also use 1 gallon of spring water and refill the jug up with the tea syrup and shake until mixed with. I chill this until cold and serve. You must pour out 1 cup or more spring water or the jug will overflow when the syrup is added. Thanks for posting a great recipe! Christine (internetnut)

  4. Great recipe. Only changes I would make are, after the tea has steeped in the boiling water, I mix the sugar with the boiling water in the pan and then pour into a gallon container, then add room temperature water to fill up the gallon jug, usually about a quart. Don't care for the taste of Luziann tea. I use only WuYi Mountain Premium Oolong tea (Six teabags to a gallon of water.)

  5. I really liked this recipe! Just the right amount of sugar. My husband doesn't like sweet tea, so I have the whole gallon to myself!!
