  1. This sounded so good and it was delicious. I did use the ground turkey and liquid smoke like others had suggested and put it on hamburger buns with shredded cheese and shredded lettuce. It is very versatile-the next day I added a regular can of diced tomatoes, put it in a pie plate and sprinkled shredded cheese over it, baked until cheese melted and served it with tortilla chips as an appetizer. Thank you Rita for a great recipe!

  2. I can't believe I forgot to rate this! We really, really liked your funky twist on sloppy joes. It provides that same comfort with an extra bit of sassiness! We try to make this instead of regular whenever we have chili sauce on hand. Thanks, Rita!

  3. This was great! I added a little cumin, liquid smoke, and Worcestershire sauce, and left off the adobo since I didn't have any. I also used turkey instead of beef. Thanks so much!

  4. I was just in the mood for sloppy joes, and boy did this do the job--one of the best I've ever tasted. Like one of the other reviewers, I omitted the celery, because cooked celery is not a favorite of mine. Otherwise, I made as directed using an Asian chili sauce. So quick, easy and flavorful, everyone should try it!

  5. I made this on the weekend and my 13 year old and husband ate it all before I even had a taste. I made a double batch the next day and tried it. It is excellent. I used 2 chipotle peppers, 1 tsp oregano(personal preference) and 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp pepper for a single batch. I found I did not need the water or flour as mine was thick enough. Thanks for such a popular recipe in my house.
