Seven Minute Frosting

"This recipe is a fond favorite from my chilhood. I don't think that my mother ever used a different frosting on our birthday cakes. The recipe is from my mother's personal hand-made recipe book. The prep and cook times here, I have estimated."

  1. Donna, Your a woman after my own heart,I have kept my recipe for this frosting from my mom too,it is a great tasting kind of a crusty icing that is sweet and really good,it was put on all of us kids' birthday cakes as we were growing up,there were ten of us,so you can figure it out for yourself how often it was made at our house. :) Thanks for the memories,Darlene

  2. This was good but very sweet! I don't have an egg beater (do they even sell them anymore, LOL) so I used my electric mixer. I started over boiling water & it was ready in 7 minutes - hence the name. Thanx Donna!

I am originally from Texas. I have lived in Michigan for the past 12 years, and love it! My favorite cookbook would have to be The Knight's Of Columbus from the West branch, Michigan Post. I more or less taught myself to cook with much trial and error.
