Randy's Aquavit

"Warming in cold weather. Adapted from Andreas Viestad's recipe in "Kitchen of Light". He uses dill seed and cumin, but we prefer this version because it tastes less medicinal. Use potato vodka instead of grain vodka, it yields a smoother product. Experiment with other herbs, such as juniper, anise seed, angelica, mint, citrus zests, etc. to find a blend that suits your taste."

 • Combine all ingredients, let steep 2 to 3 weeks, shaking every once in awhile. For stronger taste, let steep longer. When it tastes right, strain and discard the solids and return the aquavit to the bottle.

This site has gotten so horribly bad over the past couple of years, I have stopped using it to manage my recipes and have gone over to using another one, which I have been forbidden to mention on Food.com. It's no secret that there are competitors; send me a message if you are in the same boat and would like to know. For now, I only frequent a few of the forums and that's it. The Titanic has sailed!
