  • Place potatoes in a large saucepan. Cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until potatoes until tender, about 15 minutes. Remove potatoes from pan to cool. Peel potatoes and cut into pieces. Mash with a potato masher.
  • Mix in 1 tablespoon butter, salt, pepper, garlic, nutmeg and 1/2 cup Parmesan. Mix well.
  • Preheat broiler. Butter a shallow 2-quart baking dish.
  • Spread potatoes in pan and sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan. Dot with remaining 1 tablespoon butter.
  • Place under low broil until top is golden brown.

  1. This worked out well for us scaled back for 2 serves which was enough for 3 of us though used sharp cheddar instead of parmesan cheese as I am the only one in the family that really likes it the rest refer to it as spew cheese. Thank you Ceezie, made for Photo Tag tag game.
     
  2. Yummy potatoes! I added more butter and used a shredded parmesan blend cheese instead of grated parmesan. Very good reheated a few days later too. Thank you for posting Ceezie! Made and reviewed for the New Kid On The Block tag game.
