  • In a crock pot, combine the first five ingredients.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 to ten hours or until potatoes are tender.
  • Add cream cheese and stir until blended.
  • Garnish with bacon and chives.

  1. Very good chowder for such a simple recipe. I had every intention of making this in the crockpot, but ran short of time and wound up cooking it on the stovetop. I liked the tang the cream cheese added to the broth and the addition of the bacon and chive topping. I did add more pepper to give it a little more zip. Made for Spring 2011 Pick A Chef.
