peanut butter round-ups
- 1 cup soft shortening
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 cup rolled oats (quick or old fashioned)
directions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Have ungreased cookie.
- sheets ready.
- Beat together in a mixing bowl, shortening and sugars.
- until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating.
- well after each addition. Blend in peanut butter.
- Mix dry ingredients together and stir into batter add.
- rolled oats. Shape dough to form small 1-inch balls.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet 2-inches apart.
- With a floured fork press each ball into criss cross pattern.
- Press with fork tongs 1 way and then across. Bake in oven.
