We really enjoyed this one Evelyn. Used a stovetop grill pan though. Liked the marinade very much. Made it for dinner for guests (6 of us)and served with a pea pulao spinach raita. I used my old rum and ginger in vinegar routine instead of the sherry wine vinegar(unavailable)Doubled the recipe and still there was none left for lunch the next day :( Was counting on it because I have done a lot of cooking this week and wanted a break. That is my fault entirely though for picking out a winner ha! ;) Fay

This is my first time making flank steak. I liked the flavor of the marinade. (Did not have all the ingredients so had to substitute a bit, no fresh ginger so used ground gigner instead, I think fresh ginger would be much better, no sherry wine vinegar, so used some regular red wine vinegar and added a bit more of sugar, no fresh lemons at home, so used some lemon juice extract instead). I would have bought the ingredients but decided to make the recipe on the spur of the moment... The smell of the marinade was wonderful. Makes me think of korean bbq. But my meat was not as tender as I would have wanted. I will definitely make it again, but maybe try with some better cut of meat. Also, I will try to make more of the marinade and reserve some to heat to make into a sauce. Thanks for a nice marinade recipe!

OK, here goes. I live in Athens, Greece. I moved out here many, many years ago from Ottawa, Canada - so I am blessed in having two wonderful heritages!
I suffer from compulsive obsessive behaviour with regard to food and my psychiatrist thought it would be a good idea to find a 'society' where many have the same problem and try to find a cure.
So far, I've copied a couple of thousand recipes from this site and my psychiatrist has thrown the towel in and refuses to answer the phone when I call.
What did I do wrong?
Got 3 kids that keep me on the go - 10 and under at this point (2008) - I may not get round to updating this for a few years, so you'll have to do your own maths.
I teach English full-time and Greek Cookery part-time. I would like to make the cooking part of it full-time and the English Grammar part of it part-time.
That's all for now.
