- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 2 oranges, zest of
- 2 cups orange juice
directions
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water and orange zest.
- Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved; reduce heat and simmer for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and cover; set aside to steep for 5 minutes.
- Strain through sieve into a large measuring cup.
- Stir in orange juice.
- Pour into molds and freeze until slushy, then insert sticks and freeze until solid, for at least 4 hours.
- If you are using an ice pop kit, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
