My mom made this recipe (she accidentally used too much mustard & said she thinks she prefers it that way), and I’m so happy she did. My son and husband love Hotdogs with “coney” sauce like the ones you get from our local Root Beer Stand. My husband said this reminded him of that. He said this is the best he’s had homemade!! My son is on the Autism Spectrum (he’s so picky) and though he’s 26 he can only cook a few thing's on his own and we’d buy him the “coney” sauce or chili dog sauce in a can so he could fix something easy for lunch sometime’s. Both my husband and him will no longer will be eating cony dogs at a restaurant or from the root beer stand because this is a new favorite. It’s easy to make and we’ll leave leftovers for my son to warm up for his lunch. I’m not a hot dog sauce kinda person, but I know my family loves this and you can have it with a side of coleslaw, fries. baked beans or my husband’s amazing homemade Macaroni and Cheese. My husband used this sauce on a loaded baked potato as well and was really impressed. Thanks for this recipe it’s already written in our recipe book. A new favorite in our family.
