Mom's Chocolate Peanut Buddy Bars

"This is an old recipe my mom found out of a magazine years ago and cut it out to keep. She wrote "good" on it, so I figure it was worth keeping around all these years!"

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Beat peanut butter & butter together until smooth, about 1 minute.
  • Add suar, eggs and vanilla, beat until creamy.
  • Blend in flour and salt.
  • Stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
  • Spread into ungreased 13x9" baking pan.
  • Bake 25-30 minutes until edges begin to brown.
  • Take out of oven and immediately sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over cookie layer, let stand 5 minutes.
  • Once chips are shiny and soft, spread evenly over whole cookie layer.
  • Cool completely & cut into 1 1/2 inch bars.
