  1. This is a good sauce. I followed the ingredients exactly except I only put in 1 can of olives. I cooked on low in crock pot for 8 hrs. I could not taste the chocolate either. Made for Market Tag 2007

  2. This sauce is really good! I used a high quality 60% chocolate in the sauce, but was unable to detect any chocolate flavor in the sauce. I made as directed for a wonderful, full-bodied, rich, meaty tomato sauce. I served over spaghetti and will use the leftovers with ravioli tomorrow. Thank, LizAnn!

  3. Love this recipe! Makes a large delicious batch of meat sauce. I deleted the olives, exchanged one 28 oz can of San Marcano peeled tomatoes and crushed tomatoes instead of diced. Also, added a pinch more Italian Seasoning as well as one 6oz can of tomato basil tomato paste instead of regular. Awesome!

  4. I have to admit, I was skeptical when I saw chocolate chips as an ingredient in this recipe, but we loved it!! My house smelled like an upscale Italian restuarant all day while this was cooking. Definitely a keeper!!
