Lighten Up! Chocolate Chip Cookies

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 egg
- 1 egg white
- 3 tablespoons Crisco, puritan canola oil with omega-3 dha
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1⁄2 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup granulated sugar
- 1⁄2 cup semisweet mini chocolate chips
directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Coat baking sheets with cooking spray.
- Combine flour, salt, and baking soda in bowl.
- On medium-high speed beat egg, egg white, oil, corn syrup and vanilla until combined.
- On low speed beat in flour mixture until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheets 2" apart.
- Bake about 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Cool on pans 10 minutes and then transfer to racks to cool completely.

Stephanie...I am not sure these are the cookies for my family. I found them very sweet and they bake out pretty flat. Your instructions do not include for adding the brown & white sugars so I creamed it together with the egg mixture before adding the flour. 1/2 cup of chips is definitely not a lot for these cookies either - I had many with no chips at all. It is a good thought to lighten them up but I think it just changes what I think is a chocolate chip cookie. Made for PAC Fall 2009
