Layered Salad

"This is an easy salad to make. I take it to potluck dinners and I have served it at work when I had to cater a lunch for some visiting V.I.P.s."

  1. I enjoyed this salad! I substituted bacon bits for the bacon and used sharp cheddar cheese. Thanks for a nice summer salad!

  2. This salad is so pretty if it's layered in a tall clear dish. I was skeptical when I heard of mayonaise as a layer for dressing. But boy was I wrong. This salad is delicious! I kept going back for more! Elegant and tasty.

  3. Yay! I got just what I wanted on this terribly hot day; a dinner that was Cold And Good.

  4. This is an outstanding salad. I wanted a salad for Thanksgiving dinner, but not a tossed salad, I wanted something a little different. I made this up the day before Thanksgiving and let the flavors blend. Lots of compliments on this one, even from my Dad, who had 2 servings. I'm eating the leftovers with soup as I type this. The red onion is key, IMO. Will definitely make this again, thanks for posting!

  5. I made this for our Canada Day Celebration...who would have known I could make a salad with lettuce the day before and it wouldn't go all squishy. Fabulous salad...great combo of flavours...thanks for sharing this recipe.
