Kiwi Daiquiri

"A New Zealand inspired twist on this classic drink. You can omit the rum and have it as a non-alcoholic drink too."

 1. Oh how ZWT lead us - or me at any rate - astray! I NEVER usually make something like this: for the most part I'm a strictly wine, water and coffee drinker. I was seduced by some photographs of this - and was SO pleased with how just how fabulously flavoursome it was! :) I made it exactly to the recipe, except for omitting the food colouring and using less ice. Made for Ali Baba's Babes for ZWT 5.

 2. This was a very nice drink. After reading other reviews, I decided to add more sugar and it came out just right for DH and I. Thank you for posting! Made for Dining Daredevils and ZWT 5.

 3. I've made this delicious drink for the 2nd time. I realized that the 1st time I misunderstood the directions and didn't include the 1st sliced kiwi in the drink. The kiwi makes a big difference in the flavour of the drink (no kidding, eh?). This was again prepared with 2 oz of rum for 2 drinks and without the food colouring. Made for ZWT5

 4. Nice and different from the usual daquiris. Made for the Bodacious Brickhouse Babes, ZET5.

 5. I prefer my drinks less sweet, so I used 2 teaspoons Splenda instead of sugar, and omitted the food coloring since I felt it was unnecessary. I was very, very pleased with the way these came out. I also used more rum:) hehheh. BF really liked it too. Totally refreshing. The only thing was that seeds fell to bottom of glass. Well, so what?

I am originally from the Philadelphia area of the United States but have been living in London, UK since 1996. I now have dual American and British citizenship. I became a widow at the age of 27 in 2004 but have managed to fall in love again and was married again on July 19, 2008. I have a double major honors degree in sociology and politics and am slowly working my way through a Masters. I am a wanabee writer but until that dream becomes a reality I work in internet marketing where I build websites for profit. So, it is nice to come to a site like this and just enjoy being on the internet rather than using it as a work environment. I am a BBW (big woman) but over the past two years I have lost over 80lbs and am working my way down the scales slowly but steadily. These days, I am trying to eat a lot less meat. So, I am trying to have as many vegetarian recipes in the week as I can manage. I have started a blog - Weekend Carnivore where I blog about trying to eat a mostly vegetarian diet. I share a lot of my discovered recipes there. If I make one of your vegetarian recipes and I managed to take a good photo of it, chances are I will blog about it and tell everybody how much I enjoyed it.
