Oh how ZWT lead us - or me at any rate - astray! I NEVER usually make something like this: for the most part I'm a strictly wine, water and coffee drinker. I was seduced by some photographs of this - and was SO pleased with how just how fabulously flavoursome it was! :) I made it exactly to the recipe, except for omitting the food colouring and using less ice. Made for Ali Baba's Babes for ZWT 5.

I've made this delicious drink for the 2nd time. I realized that the 1st time I misunderstood the directions and didn't include the 1st sliced kiwi in the drink. The kiwi makes a big difference in the flavour of the drink (no kidding, eh?). This was again prepared with 2 oz of rum for 2 drinks and without the food colouring. Made for ZWT5

I prefer my drinks less sweet, so I used 2 teaspoons Splenda instead of sugar, and omitted the food coloring since I felt it was unnecessary. I was very, very pleased with the way these came out. I also used more rum:) hehheh. BF really liked it too. Totally refreshing. The only thing was that seeds fell to bottom of glass. Well, so what?

These days, I am trying to eat a lot less meat. So, I am trying to have as many vegetarian recipes in the week as I can manage. I have started a blog - Weekend Carnivore where I blog about trying to eat a mostly vegetarian diet. I share a lot of my discovered recipes there. If I make one of your vegetarian recipes and I managed to take a good photo of it, chances are I will blog about it and tell everybody how much I enjoyed it.
