Hotter Dan Heck BBQ Chicken Legs

"hot and spicy bbq chicken recipe, i used legs, all cuts will work. I like hot wings, but the legs and thighs are cheaper, wanted something to stand up to the meater parts. i used equal parts smoke flavored and regular bbq sauce."

  • Add first 5 ingredients to a 1 gallon zip lock bag (flour spice bag).
  • add 12 chicken legs to flour spice bag, shake well to coat all. Place in refrigerator for 1 hr in sealed flour spice bag.
  • after 1 hr, fry legs in skillet with 350 - 375 degree oil until legs are browned.
  • cover baking sheet with foil.
  • preheat over to 375.
  • transfer browned legs to bowl with sauce mixture, coat well and add to baking sheet, when all are coated place in 375 degree oven for 35 - 40 minutes until done.

  1. These were awesome!!! I floured them and put them in the fridge as the recipe states, then I floured them again and fried them. I finished them in the frying pan and served the sauce on the side. Wow I can fry chicken!! Thanks so much for a great recipe.
