Hot Dog Chili

ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1⁄2 cup onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 pint canned tomato, juice and all
directions
- Brown ground beef in a large pot. Add onions and cook until the onions turn translucent.
- Add remaining ingredients, stir and simmer on low for several hours. You can prepare this in a slow cooker and let it cook all day.
- Stir occasionally. The texture of the chili should be fairly smooth and even to put on hot dogs.
- For the dogs we either cook over low coals on the grill or braise in beer, onion, garlic and hot pepper flakes.
- Servings unknown -- but it will be enough for your family cookout.

<p>I was born and raised in Connecticut. I love the New England area, I think it is so pretty with the change of the seasons. <br /><br />I work for an ambulance company in their wheelchair division for non-emergency transportation. I work in the billing and customer service office. I love my job, the duties are so varied that you are always working on something different....no time for boredom. <br /><br />I am a mother to four, two sons and two daughters. <br />All have left the roost to start there own family. At last count, I was a granny to 6 boys and 2 little girls. <br /><br />I love Recipezaar and all the new daily postings. I see so much I want to try and continue to save them. I just don't have all the time to make all these recipes. I lost my husband in July 2006 and I am not the spring chicken anymore...pretty tired when I get home from work...so it's all quick, quick, quick, for me. <br /><br />I have tried a few....and have been pleased with my results and the new taste sensations. I am trying to initiate a goal of trying at least two new recipes a week.
