Honey Bars

"Sweet, chewy, and just plain ol' good with a tasty glaze. My mother used to make these all the time when I was little. The pecans are optional. The prep time is estimated."

  1. These are really quite lovely. They have wonderful honey flavor and are delightfully moist and chewy. I absolutely love the slight sweetness and crisp of the glaze.

  2. We didn't care for these. The flavor was okay but they came out really greasy and almost the texture of raw cookie dough. I tried baking them longer but finally took them out after 25 minutes when the edges were starting to burn.

  3. WOW! YUM-EEE! These were absolutely delicious and so simple. I didn't have pecans so used walnuts and am just thrilled. Will definitely be making these again. Thanks for a fab recipe! :)

  4. Simply divine! The bars are sweet, soft and addicting. They practically melt in your mouth! The prep was extremely easy and the ingredients were pantry staples so there was no need to buy anything special or out of the oridinary. I highly recommend this delightful recipe!

  5. Very sweet and chewy. I did use the glaze on mine, and it wasnt to overly sweet to me. I loved the honey flavor. It tasted like a cakey graham cracker. And i love graham crackers, so this was a yummy recipe.

I'm 20, and love, love, LOVE to bake and cook. If I weren't so afraid of no longer enjoying it if it were my job, I'd become a chef or open a bakery or something. I'm going to college (taking this year off because I got married) and majoring in biochemistry and forensics, so I can become a CSI. I haven't decided what I'm minoring in, but probably psychology and one or more languages. You may notice that all of the recipes I've reviewed have 4 or 5 stars. That's because I generally won't rate things that I or my family didn't like or didn't turn out well unless I can think of a way to improve it or did something to make it better (in my opinion). I just got married and I LOVE it! To me there's almost nothing more satisfying than seeing people eating and enjoying what I've made for them!^_^
