Ho Chi Minh Limeade

"A refreshing alternative to Vietnamese coffee, this drink, (sura da chanh), is served at Cheo Leo Cafe, the oldest coffee shop in Ho Chi Minh City. When stirred until the ice melts a bit the drink is refreshing and not too sweet. From Milk Street."

  1. I made this drink for a special treat for my kiddos at dinner tonight and it was met with RAVE reviews. My son thinks it deserves 20 stars and my daughter says at least five. It's TART at first, then mellows into a smooth, creamy drink. Easy to modify this, depending on the person... just change up the ratios. We made as directed and enjoyed very much!

  2. This was great. It was surprising not too sweet or too tart, but all the right elements to make it a tasty drink with a sweet base and a refreshing lime tang that gives it a zesty touch. We really enjoyed this drink, Chef PotPie

  3. Wow - I was surprised by this one! I thought for sure it would be too sweet, but you were right - after the ice melts a bit it is so good! Just out of personal preference, I did add a bit more seltzer water than called for (but not much!). I'm going to try this with the fat-free sweetened condensed the next time. This totally hit the spot on a balmy afternoon! Thanks for sharing!

  4. Wow, was this good. I loved the sweetness at the start with the hint of lime. Then it mellows out into a lovely refreshing subtley flavored drink. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely lemonade. It was quick and easy to make with the best results. Made for Seaside Brasserie.
