I learned to make this in 8th grade. The only differences are that instead of using sliced green onion, I use diced white or yellow onion, and that the cheese goes ontop before baking instead of mixing with the noodle/sour cream mixture. In fact, I made this tonight using ground turkey instead of ground beef.

I tried this recipe because I was so curious about it. Other than a few slight differences, it is very similar to one I posted called "Cheesy Casserole." In mine, I use tomato soup instead of the tomoato sauce. Mine doesn't use any garlic and mine is only 2 layers with the noolde/cottage cheese/sour cream mixture on the bottom and the meat/soup mixture on top covered with some grated cheese. However, the taste is really the same. So, I can whole heartedly give this recipe a 5 star rating. There is something about the cottage cheese mixed with the sour cream which is then mixed with the noodles that gives it a satisfying, yummy taste. Everyone should try this one because they would love it!! I know this because the one I make is really good too and there is only a difference of a couple of ingredients.

I live in Hilliard, Ohio and I work for a restaurant equipment and design distributor. I hated to cook when I was young and did not really have a passion for it until I married my husband 13 years ago. He's a Mikey - will eat just about anything so he is a lot of fun to cook for. It is hard to say what my favorite cookbook is. I have the standard Betty Crocker that is about 30 years old and so beat up. But it is great for the basics. I love Taste of Home and other cooking magazines such as that. I tend to spend my time reading recipes, clipping them out and then storing them in a notebook according to category to be tried at a later date. Needless to say, the notebook is overflowing with recipes that have not been tried yet!!!

src=http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj81/HokiesLady65/Recipezaar%20Album/iplaytagin.jpg>
