Ham N' Cheese Scalloped Potatoes

"Old Land O' Lakes recipe. I found another Land O' Lakes recipe for scalloped potatoes but it wasn't as rich, so I'm posting this for safe-keeping!"

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In 13x9 pan layer potatoes, ham and onion.
  • In 2 quart saucepan melt butter until sizzling.
  • Stir in flour, mustard and pepper.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and bubbly (1 minute).
  • Add milk, continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thickened (2 to 3 minutes).
  • Stir in cheese until melted (3 to 4 minutes).
  • Pour sauce over potatoes.
  • Sprinkle with chives.
  • Bake for 60 to 75 minutes or until bubbly and potatoes are fork tender.

  1. This recipe is fantastic! Exactly what I was looking for, when I went searching for a scalloped potato and ham recipe. Wonderfully creamy with subtle flavors. I added some chives/parsley to each layer of potatoes/ham/onion but otherwise no changes. Loved this, thank you! This is like a delicous, hearty dish you might find at a church dinner.
