- 1 1⁄2 cups Guinness stout
- 1 1⁄4 cups brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup honey
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
directions
- In a small pot caramelize onions with oil.
- Add spices and keep stirring with whisk
- add brown sugar then honey
- Then add stout.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium and simmer until reduced by about half. Sauce will thicken quite a lot as it cools.
- Store in refrigerator.
