Great Grandma Carr's Banana Nut Cake

"I got this from my brother-in-law a couple of years ago. It is so delicious and is far superior to a prepared box mix. I am 57 yrs old so that tells you how old this recipe could be. :P *We don't usually keep buttermilk - so, I put a tbsp of vinegar in regular milk to sour it."

  • Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and soda.
  • Add buttermilk, bananas, oil, eggs, and vanilla, then beat for two minutes.
  • Fold in chopped nuts.
  • Bake in greased and floured pans at 350 degrees until it test done. Approximately 50 - 60 minuters.
