Good Bbq Sauce

"I got this recipe more than 20 years ago from a relative in law who is now deceased. I have not made it in a long time, but have passed it on to friends who have complimented it highly. The ingredients are so easy to adjust to suit your own taste buds. Great on ribs or chicken. Enjoy!!!"

Ready In:
2-3 cups




  • Mix all ingredients and bring to a simmer.
  • If you want to thin it, just add more vinegar.

  1. The name is under-rated, this is a great bbq sauce - sweet AND spicy.. I loved how the mollasses flavor from the brown sugar came through - it was unique among other sauces.. I used it on grilled chicken today.. it was delicious.. thanks much..
  2. I made half the recipe and decided to cook the sauce in the microwave. Maybe it made it thinner. But it was still ok to brush on some pork tenderloin. It gave a great taste to the pork. Thanks Bobtail :) Made for PAC Spring 2012
  3. I agree with the reviewer who called this a Great Bbq Sauce! This was excellent! I also found the vinegar a tiny bit overpowering so I added a 1/2 cup more brown sugar. I also added 2 chopped garlic cloves. Thanks very much - this is definitely a keeper!
  4. This was very good! I did not use white sugar just doubled the brown. Also cut the red pepper in 1/2 bcuz my family is not fond of things that are real hot. We like spicey but not too hot. Turned out perfectly. Used it on some ribs and a brisket. Everyone went nuts over it. Will definately make again and again. Thanks for this keeper.
  5. Very Good. I did follow the recipe and found the vinegar and the red pepper flakes was a bit over powering. Next time I will decrease both. But I love the sweetness. Thank You
