Emeril Lagasse's Cajun Chocolate Syrup

"Oh my goodness, Emeril has done it again! Try this delicious sauce on ice cream, in milk or whip up a great milkshake with some vanilla ice cream! This syrup is dairy-free so you can use soy milk, etc. when making things with it."

  • Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer while whisking constantly. Remove from heat and chill before serving.

  4. The cayenne gives this chocolate syrup a lovely kick. Cut the recipe down and made using dark cocoa powder because that is what I had on hand. Very close to one I make all the time, thanks for the post.
     
  5. Jostlori recommended this recipe to me and I'm glad I tried it out as it's very easy to make, good and just a 'tad' different. I made a half batch. The residual heat left by the cayenne is a very nice addition to the chocolate sauce.
