Easy Fruit Ginger Drops

"These gingery coookies are not only really tasty, but they are a snap to make. Their flavor is just right for Christmas; next time I am going to try substituting candied ginger for the candied fruit. Add them to your holiday cookie tray! Recipe is from Betty Crocker."

  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) box gingerbread mix
  • 12 cup water
  • 12 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup cut-up candied fruit (see variations below)

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a cookie sheet(s).
  • Mix the gingerbread mix and water.
  • Stir in the nuts and candied fruit.
  • Drop by teaspoons onto prepared cookie sheet(s). Bake 10-12 minutes.
  • Variations:

  • 2/3 cup cut-up gumdrops.
  • 1 cup prepared mincemeat.
  • 1 cup raisins or craisins.
