- Preheat the oven to 350°F
- Mix the butter, sugar, molasses, and water together. Mix in the eggs.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, soda, and spices.
- Add to the wet ingredients, mix well, and drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 12 minutes.

These big soft, tender cookies are packed full of flavor. The texture is wonderful. The ginger cookies were easy to make with nice results. I also added 1 1/4 cups of flour to help thicken the batter. We really enjoyed these, they were a great addition to our christmas platter. Thank you so much for sharing.

These are delicious, and they remind of of the old-fashioned cookies my Grandmother made. The molasses and sugar added the perfect amount of sweetness, and the ginger provided a subtle taste, not overwhelming as in other ginger cookies I've tried. I did have to add 1 1/4 cups extra flour because the dough was very thin and wouldn't hold its shape when I put it on the cookie sheet. With the addition of the extra flour these came out perfectly!!
