- Melt 1 cup chocolate chips in saucepan.
- Set aside.
- Beat butter until creamy; gradually add 1 c sugar, beating well.
- Add egg, milk, and vanilla, mixing well.
- Add melted chips, mixing until blended.
- Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
- Stir in remaining chocolate chips.
- Shape dough into balls, 1 tablespoon at a time; roll balls in 1/2 c sugar.
- Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 400 for 8-10 minutes.
- (Cookies will be soft and will firm up as they cool.).
- Remove to wire racks to cool.
