  • Beat the eggs.
  • Add to them the sugars, vanilla, bourbon, corn syrup, butter and flour.
  • Mix well.
  • Distribute nuts and chips in the bottom of the pie shell.
  • Pour the filling on top.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

  1. This is the real deal! We used to sell derby pies as a fundraiser for my high school band, and I have been searching for "the recipe" ever since then. Every other recipe that I had tried left the custard part a little curdled and lacking flavor. Not this one! It produces a perfectly smooth, delicious filling no matter how many or how few chocolate chips and nuts you add (I often omit the nuts for my nut-hating friends). Thank you!
