Curried Turkey Shepherd’s Pie

"This was one of those "gee, what quick meal can I make out of what's in the house" recipe. Leftover turkey in the freezer; turnips, carrots and celery in the fridge, and a packet of instant mashed potatoes (the cheesy kind) in the pantry . . voila! It came out really well (even the picky 12 year-old ate it!) You can certainly substitute ingredients based on what you have at hand, but I wouldn't change the spice mix -- that really makes the dish."
