Crock Pot Chicken

"A very simple crock pot recipe. I suppose you can substitute water for the wine and cook on low for 6-8 hours."

  1. This one was just so-so for our family. I used regular white cooking wine (a Chablis) and just a regular dry Italian dressing mix. I cooked on high for 3 hours and then switched to low for 2 hours and the chicken didn't seem to absorb any of the flavor. But on a side note, the gravy that I made out of the liquid in the pot was pretty good. I am going to make this again with red wine and see what happens.

  2. This recipe is so easy and very delicious. I did not brown the chicken, not sure it would make a difference and the end result was fantastic! Thanks for sharing this super easy and tasty recipe!

  3. I tried this recipe because it was so simple and it was very good, definitely. I used more chicken breasts however, added small golden potatoes and small onions, so I increased the salad dressing mix as well as the wine. To the extent it matters, I used a semi-dry white wine and again, it was very good.

  4. Couldn't have been easier. Nice flavor. The whole family enjoyed this dish. It wasn't dried out like other crockpot chicken recipes maybe because it was browned first.

  5. I too can't believe this hasn't gotten more reviews. I've actually made this several times now, it's become a staple in our weekly meal plans! So easy, and tastes like you put tons of work into it! I'm making it tonight to serve to guests! Thanks so much Kannwilson!

I live in Western KS and am a K-5 Librarian. I love to cook! Don't we all? I'm married to a VERY picky eater. For me, cooking is a great way to relax. I love baking the best. Christmas is my favorite time of year because I can make so many yummy goodies. I'd like to make goodies year-round but we definitely don't need it!
