Creamy Peanut Butter Frosting With Chocolate Morsels

- 3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese (softened)
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄2 cup sour cream
- 6 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
- 1⁄4 cup buttermilk
- 2 lbs powdered sugar (divided)
- 1⁄4 cup heavy whipping cream (more or less as needed)
- 1 (11 1/2 ounce) package milk chocolate chips
directions
- Place cream cheese into a heavy duty mixer and mix on high until fluffy. Add the brown sugar and continue mixing about 2 minutes more until creamy.
- Add the vanilla, sour cream and peanut butter and mix until well blended.
- Add the powdered sugar one cup at a time until 1/2 of it is blended.
- Once thick add the buttermilk all at once. Mix on high for 30 seconds.
- Add the remaining powdered sugar and drizzle in the heavy cream to the appropriate consistency.
- Beat on high until fluffy.
- On the slowest speed, blend in the chocolate morsels.
