Classic Kansas City Style Sauce

"This is a classic Kansas City sauce that is a thick, rich and tangy tomato based sauce with molasses and just a hint of vinegar. Thanks to Arthur Bryant's in Kansas City for the recipe."

 1. This sauce was delicious and very thick. It was great brushed on the ribs to add flavor and little crust. However, it was too gritty for a BBQ dipping sauce. Awesome!

 2. My hubby's from KC, so I'm always looking for a great BBQ recipe for him. I have to say that we were disappointed with this one. He was raised on Arthur Bryants and this recipe didn't taste the same. It was an ok mild, everyday sauce, but not the KC style he loves.

 3. A terrific, very authentic KC sauce - as good as anything we've had in KC restaurants. Updated to add: As this mellowed in the fridge the flavor just got better and better! I doubt that we'll EVER buy bottled sauce again!

 4. Great barbecue sauce!! I actually made this a couple weekends ago and hadn't rated it yet, but I was reminded of it just now, as there was a spot on Arthur Bryant's on some travel channel just now, lol..

I'm a retired service man who took up cooking as a hobby, because I never really did any cooking before. Now I have the time and my wife loves the break. I've been collecting old family favorites (Irish father, German Mother). Hope to share them all as soon as I get them right. <img src=http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/untitled.jpg border=0 alt=Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting />

You are Visitor Number
