I expected to love this recipe...bacon, potatoes, onion, and cheese! What is there not to like? But I found these potatoes to be a little pastey, I guess because of the flour mixture involved in making them. I think I prefer the traditional way of making potatoes au gratin, and letting the starch in the potatoes thicken the casserole. These potatoes turned out pastey and also had a very unpleasant color. My DS, who loves potatoes and bacon, gave these a 2 1/2. I give them a 3. I don't think I will make them again, but I may add some bacon to traditional au gratin potatoes in the future. Thanks for sharing a wonderful idea. I also ate at Cinderella's Castle when I was at Disney! It is a special memory for myself and my DD. I made this recipe for Newest Zaar Tag.

Our family moved to Florida from New York in the 90's, so I've brought not only many of the recipes my family has passed down, but have learned to cook some great Southern dishes as well.? When I found RZ, it opened up a whole new world of cooking -- cuisine from different countries, tried-and-true family hand-me-down recipes, and some interesting and delicious dishes I would never have found on my own.
