- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried basil
directions
- Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat. Mix together the ground beef, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, and basil. Divide into four balls, and flatten into patties. Make a thumb imprint in the middle of each patty so they cook level.
- Cook the patties for about 3 to 5 minutes on each side, or to desired doneness. The internal temperature should be at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C). Remove from grill and place onto hamburger buns. Top with desired toppings and condiments.

I made this recipe on 3/25/12 for Spring PAC 2012 and for mine and my So's dinner. Since my SO and I both enjoy a larger burger, I made two six ounce patties.Except for cooking them in a cast iron skillet the recipe was made as it was written.Since the burgers had garlic and basil,I thought provolone cheese would be a very good addition and it was. Thanks for a change from our usual burgers.
