  • Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl except the chicken & buns.
  • Place the chicken into a crock pot then pour the sauce over until the chicken is smothered. Cover with the lid & cook on low for 5-6 hours.
  • Shredded the chicken with a fork then scoop the mixture onto the buns.

  1. Great recipe! I fudged the sauce a little bit according to my tastes, but it was great! I made it for my parents and my mom hates chicken and had 2 sandwiches. Another good idea is to use pita bread.
     
  2. This was so easy (and I made it even easier my trying those slow cooker liners that Reynolds makes, so I had no cleanup either)! I used 8 thin-sliced chicken breasts, because that is what I had in the freezer. I used 3-1/2 T. of brown sugar, which seemed just right. When the chicken was first done, I noticed that sauce seemed very watery. However, as I shredded the chicken, it absorbed most of the liquid, keeping it moist and tasty, so it was just perfect. Not only did I make sandwiches with this, but I reheated the chicken and served it over brown rice with asparagus for a quick dinner. Thanks for sharing this!
