- 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated to yield 1 cup
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 tablespoon onion juice
- 1⁄2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry vermouth
- 1 teaspoon gin
directions
- Put cheese in bowl and warm to room temperature. Mix with mayo and all other ingredients until well blended. Chill until ready to serve. Can serve as a spread, or spread on crackers and toast under broiler until cheese bubbles.
